Before Your Visit
- Avoid blood-thinners (aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil) for 48 hours.
- Pause alcohol the evening before to reduce bruising.
- Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin - or we'll remove it for you.
- Eat beforehand; hydrate well the morning of your appointment.
- Share any recent skincare treatments with your injector.
After Your Visit
- Remain upright for 4 hours - no lying flat or lounging back.
- Skip vigorous exercise, saunas, and steam for 24 hours.
- Gently animate your face for the first hour (quiet expressions, a smile).
- Avoid touching, massaging, or applying makeup to the area for 6 hours.
- Expect subtle softening in 3–5 days; full artistry by day 14.

Botox results typically last 3 to 4 months. Longevity varies based on metabolism, muscle strength, dosage, and the treatment area. First time clients sometimes notice results fade a little faster, while consistent maintenance often extends how long each treatment lasts over time.
Most clients begin to see softening within 3 to 5 days, with full results visible around day 14. Botox works gradually as it settles into the targeted muscles, which is why we recommend waiting two weeks before evaluating your final outcome or scheduling any refinement.
Botox injections are generally very well tolerated. Most clients describe the feeling as a brief, mild pinch that lasts only a second per injection. At Skin 101, we use ultra fine needles and offer complimentary topical numbing cream so your treatment feels calm and comfortable.
Your ideal dose depends on your anatomy, muscle strength, and goals. As a general guide, frown lines often require 10 to 30 units, forehead lines 10 to 30 units, and crow's feet 6 to 24 units per side. Your injector will recommend a precise, customized plan during your consultation.
There is no single right age. Many clients begin preventative Botox in their late twenties or early thirties, when fine lines first appear at rest. Others start in their forties or fifties to soften more established wrinkles. The ideal time is whenever you begin noticing changes you would like to gently address.
